Book Challenge Update!

At the beginning of January I set a reading goal for myself and decided to read 75 books this year. I tend to get busy or in a rut, so I figured that was a safe number.

I here to reveal my January total….7 books! I don’t think that is too bad at all. At least two books were paper copies which do tend to take me a little bit longer to read. All in all, I read some great stuff in January including The Uglies, We Were Liars (comes out in May), The Here and Now (releases in April, and Cress (NEXT TUESDAY!!!). I can’t wait to see what is coming up in February!

My Review:

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

I keep telling people that I’m already wondering if this will already be my favorite book that I will read this year.

I saw some other review that said that they didn’t like the choppy writing style. For me- that is what I found most interesting. It gave me a hint, of sorts, that something huge and abrupt was going to happen. I never would have guessed what was going to happen. Just know that We Were Liars is more than a story about a bunch of rich kids spending summers on an island. Random House is genius for promoting the book in a way that does not go too far into the plot. This way, the reader goes in blind and has no idea what to expect. I only knew that something had to be happening the way that the plot and story kept jumping around to different summers. I had to keep reading because I needed to know.

When I finally reached the book’s climax, I just stared at the page for a few minutes trying to process what had happened. In fact, I finished it days ago and I’m still trying to process it.

Do yourself a favor and get We Were LIars when it releases in May!

Thought:

So I’m still reading Prodigy, but it’s in hardcopy. (So far, so good I love it!)

That said, I was too lazy to get up and turn the light back on when I couldn’t sleep last night. What did I do? I pulled out my beloved Kindle Fire and chose to start We Were Liars. I got it from Netgalley, but have heard great things about it and was ready to start it.

It is SO GOOD! A full review is coming eventually, but I had to just go ahead and express my excitement over this book. It definitely lives up to the hype that I keep hearing about.
